When I did them for my wedding, I used Publisher and it allowed me to find the size of the card. So it you are using 4 x 6 cards, find that size on the print or design settings on your computer program of choice. Then you can lay out the text, load the cards into your printer, and they'll come out as you designed them. Good luck!
Usually the manufacturer has instructions and templates on their website. You should check that out first other wise just use your regular paper and experiment.
